We rode the Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 last year and called it the best cruiser on the planet.
This year, we came back with a simple question:
Is that still true?
The Breakout is one of the most recognisable motorcycles ever built – long, low, and unapologetically bold. Its fat rear tyre, stretched stance, and road presence are unparalleled.
But time, experiencing other motorcycles, and perspective change how you see things.
In this revisit, we look deeper:
We talk about comfort over distance, the unique handling characteristics of the Breakout, and how it behaves in real-world riding conditions. We also explore the increasing difficulty of exhaust modifications under EU regulations, and what that means for modern Harley ownership in general.
And then there’s the bigger question:
