What should have been a beautiful ride through rural Maharashtra turned into one of the most physically and mentally brutal days of our entire India journey.
The roads were relentless. The bike punished us with every bump. And The Ol’ Man’s cough had gone from bad to genuinely worrying. We pushed on, surviving on roadside masala chai and snacks, chasing one simple goal — a bed for the night.
But when we finally rolled into town, exhausted and dust-covered, we were hit with the words every traveller dreads: NO VACANCY.
With daylight fading and no plan B, we faced the very real possibility of sleeping rough by the roadside in rural India.
This episode is the unfiltered reality of motorcycle travel — where comfort disappears, plans collapse, and finding a basic hotel room feels like winning the lottery.
