I remember asking myself, What was Harley-Davidson thinking when they made this motorcycle? The first time I heard that Harley-Davidson would make an adventure bike, I thought it was a bad Idea. Harley would have to go up against some giants in the adventure touring space and overcome some preconceived notions from riders that typically don’t have a positive opinion about Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It turns out that I was wrong; the Harley-Davidson Pan-America held its own with the other adventure bike giants, and I was surprised how many adventure riders actually owned Harley-Davidsons, too. Once I got the opportunity to ride the Pan-America in the environment that the H-D engineer created it for, I started appreciating the design of this awesome motorcycle.
In Today’s video, I take a course in off-road motorcycle adventure riding training with the pro riding instructors at Harley-Davidson’s Pan-America Zakar off-road training facility in the Mojave Desert.
