I’ve been lucky so far on my T7—no drops, just dirt. But I know that luck won’t last forever. So today, I’m finally installing all the protection I need to keep this bike safe and ready for any adventure.

After tons of research, I landed on AltRider for crash bars, a skid plate, a radiator guard, and even a rear luggage rack to solve my mounting issues. Protection should be the first mod on any ADV bike—forget fender eliminators; you need to keep your ride in one piece first.

I’ll walk you through the install, share my thoughts on the design choices, and put this gear to the test.
