The Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic and Indian Chief Vintage represent two very different approaches to the modern American cruiser.
After riding both motorcycles back-to-back, we’re asking a simple question: has Indian finally caught Harley-Davidson? And which one would WE buy?
The Chief Vintage impressed us with its characterful Thunderstroke engine, surprisingly agile handling and distinctive styling. But does that outweigh concerns over quality, finish and a digital display that simply feels out of place on a motorcycle built around heritage and nostalgia?
The Heritage Classic takes a different approach. It may not be the cheapest option, but the attention to detail, quality and overall ownership experience continue to set the benchmark.
PLEASE NOTE: we had the Icons edition Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival in this video, but for all intents and purposes, it is a Heritage Classic so our comparison reflects only the latter.
In this honest comparison, we look beyond the specifications and consider what these motorcycles are really like to live with, ride and own.
